MOTIVATION magazine is an authentic, black veteran-owned small business; a positive and substantive online periodical delivering on Everything MOTIVATION. MOTIVATION magazine is a subsidiary company of InspiraGen Institute LLC, both owned and operated by Mr. Ty Howard, based in Baltimore County, Maryland (USA).
Its owner, Ty Howard, affectionately known as Mr. Untie the Knots® and Dear MOTIVATION Columnist, has been working very hard for many years putting together MOTIVATION magazine and has helped tons of people, professionals, and families in need of reliable motivation — especially in a time when it is highly needed. As a U.S. Navy Veteran, Howard spends his time passionately running his business and seeing to it that the world receives continuous fresh doses of quality MOTIVATION each day!
THE VISION
Giving a boost of MOTIVATION to a world in great need of encouragement, increased hope, solutions, and practical strategies for success, Knots FREE Media has unveiled MOTIVATION, a magazine that will provide MOTIVATION for everyone. MOTIVATION magazine is the first magazine announced as part of Knots FREE Media’s new global balance of motivation and empowerment program that officially launched on Friday, February 17, 2012 from the MOTIVATIONmagazine.com web site.
Over the past nine years, MOTIVATION magazine has been the champion of Everything MOTIVATION online! It helps professionals, individuals, families, and students from all walks of life worldwide. Through our web site, monthly newsletter, social media, Dear MOTIVATON Advice Column, expert writers, and guest contributors, we've endeavored to preserve and grow an Everything MOTIVATION 'ecosystem' and create an appreciation for our wonderful readers and supporters around the globe.
THE IMPACT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON MOTIVATION magazine's OPERATIONS
COVID-19 has hit this small business hard like many others, making it very difficult to make ends meet during this ongoing pandemic. InspiraGen Institute LLC, the parent company of MOTIVATION magazine, did apply for and received COVID-19 Relief from the United States Government in 2020. We are grateful for the government's COVID-19 Relief, but the minimal amount received was just enough to keep business operations and expenses going for 12 weeks.
MOTIVATION magazine is not supported by "paid subscribers" or "member donations." We need your help to keep positive journalism and motivation advocacy alive and online during this very difficult time, and beyond.
This virus has shut down our print MOTIVATION magazine launch, which depends on advertising revenue to survive. Our inaugural print component was set for Spring 2020, followed by quarterly issues (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring). We then rescheduled our print component for Spring 2021, but that is not going to happen. Advertising from our partners supports our ability to publish our magazine, web site, and e-newsletter and pay our web developers, digital support team, writers/contributors, photographers, printers, postage, and distribution teams. Additional expenses include the costs of keeping our web sites, supporting domain names, online security measures, Monthly MOTIVATION e-Newsletter, business Internet service, server maintenance, various software programs, Zoom and WebEx business accounts, magazine industry business subscriptions, and social media marketing efforts over the next several months during the time of the pandemic. Most of our advertising partners are shut down at this point, so our ability to stay alive is threatened because we have no revenue to pay for and sustain our business operations and expenses.
We were fortunate. We received an emergency relief loan through the government and we have been able to meet our responsibilities up to now. And we can still make it but probably only to the end of the April 2021. But this is a loan, not a grant. It is not a forgivable package, but a loan. That means after working so hard and struggling to serve our online community for nine years, once we had finally pulled our head above water, COVID-19 struck and derailed our growth and development plans and now we're are once again in debt. It has come to this. We have to turn to the people that come to MOTIVATION magazine or see and support the value of our service-driven work, and ask for help.
We hate the fact that we are asking for charity, but if it comes down to begging or letting MOTIVATION magazine disappear due to this horrific pandemic…We will not allow ourselves to drown pride. We will do whatever it takes to keep MOTIVATION magazine alive for our wonderful readers who currently need - reliable - quality motivation more than ever. There is no shame in that. If there was another way, believe me we would be doing it.
OUR GOAL
Honestly, we know 2020 and the start of 2021 has been unprecedented on everybody and finances are tough for everyone. We are just hoping that Many Hands Make Light Work. There have been hundreds of thousands of people that have come to our web site and benefited in some way from our "ecosystem" of Everything MOTIVATION. If we can spread the financial burden of keeping MOTIVATION magazine alive over all the people who have come and found the motivation needed through our web site, monthly e-newsletter, and social media platforms. If we can spread it out over the hundreds of passionate writers that have contributed their brand of motivation to our readers over the years and told us how much they love MOTIVATION magazine. If everyone who has ever been touched or inspired by what MOTIVATION magazine does can just donate what they can afford then the burden won’t seem so heavy.
Our bare minimum goal would be to put six more months of expenses into savings. Maybe, just maybe, by then we will all have received the vaccine or some semblance of our normal lives back.
Whatever we can raise, we will be grateful for. I can tell you that every cent of the money will go to expenses at MOTIVATION magazine through its parent company InspiraGen Institute LLC, first and foremost. If by some miracle we are able to recover and get back to our new normal sooner than later, 100% of the remainder of the money will go to paying back the loan.
We need your help. We need you to spread our fundraiser page to every person you know. Represent for us and tell them what we stand for and ask if they can share our request for help with their network.
Please, please know that we are only asking for you to give an amount that makes sense for your situation. Every donation will add up, so please don’t try to be an over-the-top hero and end up putting strain on your situation.
We have put 11 years of our blood, sweat, tears, and love into MOTIVATION magazine. And you and others have put the same effort into coming and supporting us as we've developed and grown over the years. None of us want to see MOTIVATION magazine go under.

At the discretion of InspiraGen Institute LLC, gifts received will be used to cover MOTIVATION magazine's ongoing business costs and expenses. Your heartfelt support and generosity will help MOTIVATION magazine survive and provide positive journalism and motivation advocacy to future generations to come; online and, God willing, in print come Spring 2023.
